MY CHRISTMAS GIFT & NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS:

Since childhood we have received many Gifts from our parents, families, friends or well wishers (toys 🧸 , bikes 🚲 , money 💰, candies 🍭 , books 📚 , shoes 👞 , clothes, gadgets, furnitures......long list), or we have bought gifts for our loved ones. Unfortunately each & every item we have gifted to someone or received as a gift from someone, gets broken down or outdated in meaning. Whatever we have in our possession now is temporary; nothing lasts forever. Is there any valuable gift we have bought or have in our possession which is useful forever & never gets outdated?

Yes, there is one Everlasting Treasure, our Sacred Gift from Lord Krishna--Bhagavad Gita a TIMELESS POSSESSION to have in our life. With respect to everyone’s values & beliefs, whichever Sacred Gift 🎁 (either Bible, Quran, Torah, Tripitaka, Agama, Guru Granth Sahib, Gita...etc...) we have in our POSSESSION is good.

MY NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS: You are most welcome to join with me...Please give me a company.....LOL. 😂 😝 🤣

Five basic Principles or Truths from the Gita.

1. Regulate the Lifestyle:
It is healthy for us & our family to live regulated life meaning balancing our eating, sleeping, recreation and work. There is happiness in the Mode of Goodness lifestyle. Yes, we should work hard & stretch our boundaries to do more & achieve more, but at a same time pay attention to our limitations & health. Don’t sacrifice your health for wealth. Bend yourself, but don’t break your self.

Bg 6.17 -- He who is regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system.

2. Duty without Expectation:
We should do our prescribed duty either as a parent, child, spouse, student, teacher, friend, colleague, employee, employer....etc, but don’t expect anything in return & remain detached from the result. When plans turn into expectations we set ourselves up for misery.

Bg 2.47 -- You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty.

3. Don’t Compete with others:
Gita insights (3.35) guide us to perform our own dharma (inner calling) instead of someone else’s. Don’t compare & compete with others. Every one of us has a different mindset & passion to do good for society. Be yourself but continue to improve yourself. Don’t expect fish to climb the tree or a bunny to swim. Everyone is genius in their own way.

Bg 3.35 -- It is far better to discharge one’s prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another’s duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one’s own duty is better than engaging in another’s duties, for to follow another’s path is dangerous.

4. Sweet & Encouraging Speech:
Our relationships, enthusiasm, success and overall direction of the life is shaped up by the sweet, supportive & stimulating words we hear from our loved ones (or we speak for our loved ones).

Bg 17.15 -- Austerity of speech consists in speaking words that are truthful, pleasing, beneficial, and not agitating to others, and also in regularly reciting Vedic literature.

5. Work with Devotion & Cool mind: Either at workplace, in family or anywhere.

Bg 5.7 -- One who works in devotion, who is a pure soul, and who controls his mind and senses is dear to everyone, and everyone is dear to him. Though always working, such a man is never entangled ( Vedabase.com ).

In short maintain our Regulation , alter our Expectations, drop the Competition, Sweeten up our Tongue and Work with Devotion. Out of 700 verses from Gita, by implementing only these 5 verses in our lives we will be on the right track.

Wishing You & Your Family a Happy New Year.

Pankaj & Dipika, Akash & Yash AND Parents.

MY SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION , SOURCE & THE GURUS:

I am inspired to hear & read the Vedic Scriptures by regularly listening to Sri Pandurang Shashtri Athvale, also known as Dadaji ( speaks on Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Veda based discourses & western philosophy ) and the association of Swadhyay Parivar every Sunday in Swadhya Kendra.

I also hear and read the discourses & literature on Vedic thoughts from Srila Prabhupada, his disciples & grand disciples ( HH Bhakti Rasamitra Swami, HH Chaitanya Charandas Prabhu, Shubha Vilas Prabhu, Sutapa Das, Amarnath Dasa, HH Bhakticharu Swami, HH Urmila Devi Dasi, HH Sivarama Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, HH Romapada Swami, Lal Govind Prabhu ( Gujarati & Hindi) Prahalad Maharaj in Surat (Gujarati) .......and many more from ISKCON......).

FYI: A good source of Vedic literature: Vedabase.com . Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence & Srimad Bhagavatam (SB) is the nectar of all Vedic scriptures. Repeatedly hearing/reading & meditating the Scriptures, Eating Sanctified Pure Food and Chanting Vedic Mantras are nourishing to our heart (Soul), transcendental to our consciousness, purifying to our senses and thus helps us to overcome our weaknesses or deficiencies. Yes, we do have good qualities within us but there is always a room for improvement.

It is always a good idea to share our good thoughts & knowledge with others. Thanks to the Facebook/Social media for providing me the platform. Of course I use Smartphone/Google/Pexels searches to collect some data.

Besides my parents, wife, teachers, family & friends GREATFUL to EVERYONE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED in MY LIFE. Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue by Grace of the Guru & God (Krishna , Absolute Truth).

NOTE:
Many times a word Hearing is used instead of Listening when it comes to the Scriptures. Because Scriptures are so potent that simply by Hearing them even if you don’t try to interpret or analyze or understand them still there will be passive positive effects on our mind & senses.

We can follow either the Quran, Bible,Torah, Tripitaka, Agama, Guru Granth Sahib, Gita or any other Philosophy which makes sense to us, purifies us, elevates our consciousness and qualifies us to understand God and instill the love of God & his creation. (whichever way we can understand God -- either Personal with many names or Impersonal as an universal consciousness & energy).

Don’t try to understand God by Name, Religion or Depiction (means image, picture...etc) but try to understand him by the Definition through Scriptures. The Transcendental subject of God & his creation cannot be understood by mental speculation. Some times people ask why God is Supreme? It is just like asking why is the circle circular? Just by definition, the circle is circular. Similarly by definition, God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes.

I see God, besides the above mentioned qualities, as an eternal living person (not a abstract or some kind of light) known by the name KRISHNA meaning one who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, forms, abodes, incarnations, activities, qualities, associates, is full of wisdom, bliss, and the cause of all causes.

Bg 9.17 -- I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.

Bg:13-12:-- Accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth ( God ) – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance. ( Vedabase.com ).

AM I ON THE RIGHT SPIRITUAL PATH?

Note: This article is not meant to make any one inferior but rather stimulates everyone including myself to inquire & acquire the spiritual knowledge with open mindedness.

Worry not whether your path is genuine – worry whether you are genuine..LOL 😆. Sometimes, we have anxiety & doubt that "am I following the right Spiritual path, Guru or Organization?" Rather then worrying about those things, I should worry about myself-- "am I genuine or sincere about learning the spiritual knowledge to uplift my spiritual understanding & consciousness?" If we have a sincere desire with openness to progress further then there is always a higher divine arrangement to guide us further.

If you are too skeptical or an egoistic individual, then it is very difficult to make progress along a Spiritual Journey. Actually, skepticism or doubting is one of the important signs & functions of intelligence. In order to cultivate intelligence, one should be doubtful in the beginning and try to remove the doubt by asking the thoughtful questions. However, sometimes by doubting too much, we may learn what is considered wrong but we will never learn what is considered right for us.

Doubting is not very favorable when information is received from the proper source. In Srimad Bhagavad Gita Lord says that doubting the words of the authority is the cause of destruction. Without having faith in scriptures, it is very difficult to make further progress on the spiritual path. Even if your have FOMO (fear of missing out the materialism) or a YOLO (you only live once) personality, Scriptures will help you to live a better life & enjoy materialism...LOL. 🤣

Spiritual Journey begins with "Athato Brahma Jijnasa" is the 1st aphorism of Vedanta Sutra or Brhama Sutra. It means that I have inquired & enjoyed enough of the worldly mundane subjects & object matters, but now it is time to inquire about myself & the ABSOLUTE TRUTH the cause of all the causes. This is only possible in the human form of life.

Keep in mind that we will never be able to find the perfect community or organization to start our Spiritual Journey because we are not perfect ourselves...LOL.

With respect to everyone’s values & beliefs, whichever SCRIPTURES (Bible, Quran, Torah, Tripitaka, Agama, Guru Granth Sahib, Gita...etc...), RELIGION, METHODS or WAYS work for us is good.

Bg 4.39 -- A faithful man who is dedicated to transcendental knowledge and who subdues his senses is eligible to achieve such knowledge, and having achieved it he quickly attains the supreme spiritual peace.

Bg 4.40 -- But ignorant and faithless persons who doubt the revealed scriptures do not attain God consciousness; they fall down. For the doubting soul there is happiness neither in this world nor in the next. Vedabase.com

SB 1.1.19 -- Transcendental literature is above the mode of darkness, and its light becomes more luminous with progressive reading and realization of the transcendental subject matter.

Have a Brahma Jijnsa Day.

Thank You.

CAN we SURVIVE?

Don’t be offended by this post, just expressing my thoughts. Don’t take the life too personally"....LOL 😂 😝 😆.

Why do we need Soda, Tobacco, Drugs (cocaine, heroine...etc) , Liquor, Guns, Casinos and Slaughterhouse Industries? Just to Kill Ourselves & Others....It is Suicidal & Homicidal. In the last 25 years directly or indirectly, these industries are responsible for Turmoils & Havocs on the planet earth. (Individual, Animals, Family, Health, Social, Environmental & Economical turmoil).

CAN we SURVIVE without these industries? Of course we can survive. I am not against or offended by any individuals who are consuming these products, but I am not in favour of these industries...LOL 😂 😝 😆.

1. There are ample amounts of healthy & tasty FOODS like vegetables, fruits, fruit juices, grains, animal fat in the form of cow milk & milk products, sweets..etc are available in the nature. WHY VEGETARIANS? see the link: http://pankajpatelmd.blogspot.com/2017/11/why-vegetarians.html?m=1

2. There are so many occupations & enough WORK available for everyone in absence of these industries.

3. We can choose many varieties of RECREATIONAL activities to enjoy the life like music, singing, dancing, reading, dramas, sports, sightseeing, swimming, shopping, cooking, hiking, boating...etc.
Clearly, there are plenty of FOODS , enough WORK & RECREATIONAL activities available for everyone in absence of these industries.

Five basic ingredients ( earth, water, fire, ether and air ) of any creation either animate or inanimate are not manufactured by human, so we are not proprietor of this world. We should not exploit the Mother Earth & other living entities. There will be less environmental pollution, nuisance, health problems, violence, health care cost and socioeconomic issues...etc in absence of these industries. In fact, we will experience & develop plenty of love, kindness, compassion, joy, peacefulness and tolerance while working or enjoying in nature. It is good to live in harmony with nature & other living entities.

Sometimes rather then testing individual or society’s self control it is better to deprive them from destructive subjects & objects to save the culture, community & country. Maybe it is not possible for us to shutdown these industries, but certainly it is possible to oppose them by not consuming their products...LOL 🤣

Bg 7.4 -- Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego – all together these eight constitute My separated material energies.

Bg 7.5 -- Besides these, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is another, superior energy of Mine, which comprises the living entities who are exploiting the resources of this material, inferior nature.

Bg 18.42 -- Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge, wisdom and religiousness – these are the natural qualities by which the brāhmaṇas ( sober person ) work. Vedabase.com

Have a Peaceful & Self Control Day.

It is easy to say, but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else, or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in the right direction.

Thank You.

22 HOURS ARE ENOUGH:

Life is too busy for all of us, 24 hours is simply not enough. There are many things to accomplish or issues to be resolved at home, at work, in society, at county level, in politics, even in religion....etc. There are many challenges & obstacles in our life, we can not escape from the chaotic life, our surrounding situations will never be perfect.

SB: 10.14.58 says "padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām " means there is struggle & danger at every steps in our life.

Every one of us has 24 hours to manage everything. Sometimes we wish we could have a few extra hours so we could have resolved the situation or accomplished our goal or enjoyed our life. There is always a shortage of time till the death.

From inner core we are a Spiritual being covered with a material body. Yes it is necessary to take care of this material body because our soul is living inside. At the same time we need to focus on our inner development to grow spiritually. In day to day life we must utilize our time wisely and try to achieve our goal. If we are efficient means physically & mentally fit then we can be helpful to ourselves, our family & society.

Let’s try to manage our family, professional and social responsibilities, our entertainment & hobbies in 22 HOURS. For the remaining two hours spare 1 hour for our physical fitness by practicing Physical Yoga ( or any other form of exercise ) that includes healthy diet & 1 hour for our mental fitness by practicing Spiritual Yoga. These 2 hours of investment will help us to improve our remaining 22 hours of life meaning it will improve our family, professional , health, socioeconomic and environmental relationships & productivity.... A Win-Win strategy.

Bg 6.16 -- There is no possibility of one’s becoming a yogī, O Arjuna, if one eats too much or eats too little, sleeps too much or does not sleep enough.

Bg 6.17 -- He who is regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system.

Bg 6.36 -- For one whose mind is unbridled, self-realization is difficult work. But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by appropriate means is assured of success. That is My opinion.

Bg 18.64 -- Because you are My very dear friend, I am speaking to you My supreme instruction, the most confidential knowledge of all. Hear this from Me, for it is for your benefit.

Have a Regulated Day & Life.

It is easy to say, but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else, or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in the right direction.

Thank You.
