THE COMPLETE WHOLE:

THE COMPLETE WHOLE: I have read it few times to understand this completely….but still incomplete…😂.

Īśo Invocation of Sri Isopnisad:

oṁ pūrṇam adaḥ pūrṇam idaṁ

pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate

pūrṇasya pūrṇam ādāya

pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate

Translation

The Personality of Godhead is perfect and complete, and because He is completely perfect, all emanations from Him, such as this phenomenal world, are perfectly equipped as complete wholes. Whatever is produced of the Complete Whole is also complete in itself. Because He is the Complete Whole, even though so many complete units emanate from Him, He remains the complete balance.

Purport:

The Complete Whole, or the Supreme Absolute Truth, is the complete Personality of Godhead. Realization of impersonal Brahman or of Paramātmā, the Supersoul, is incomplete realization of the Absolute Complete. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha. Realization of impersonal Brahman is realization of His sat feature, or His aspect of eternity, and Paramātmā realization is realization of His sat and cit features, His aspects of eternity and knowledge. But realization of the Personality of Godhead is realization of all the transcendental features – sat, cit and ānanda, bliss. When one realizes the Supreme Person, he realizes these aspects of the Absolute Truth in their completeness. Vigraha means “form.” Thus the Complete Whole is not formless. If He were formless, or if He were less than His creation in any other way, He could not be complete. The Complete Whole must contain everything both within and beyond our experience; otherwise He cannot be complete.

The Complete Whole, the Personality of Godhead, has immense potencies, all of which are as complete as He is. Thus this phenomenal world is also complete in itself. The twenty-four elements of which this material universe is a temporary manifestation are arranged to produce everything necessary for the maintenance and subsistence of this universe. No other unit in the universe need make an extraneous effort to try to maintain the universe. The universe functions on its own time scale, which is fixed by the energy of the Complete Whole, and when that schedule is completed, this temporary manifestation will be annihilated by the complete arrangement of the Complete Whole.

All facilities are given to the small complete units (namely the living beings) to enable them to realize the Complete Whole. All forms of incompleteness are experienced due to incomplete knowledge of the Complete Whole. The human form of life is a complete manifestation of the consciousness of the living being, and it is obtained after evolving through 8,400,000 species of life in the cycle of birth and death. If in this human life of full consciousness the living entity does not realize his completeness in relation to the Complete Whole, he loses the chance to realize his completeness and is again put into the evolutionary cycle by the law of material nature.

Because we do not know that there is a complete arrangement in nature for our maintenance, we make efforts to utilize the resources of nature to create a so-called complete life of sense enjoyment. Because the living entity cannot enjoy the life of the senses without being dovetailed with the Complete Whole, the misleading life of sense enjoyment is illusion. The hand of a body is a complete unit only as long as it is attached to the complete body. When the hand is severed from the body, it may appear like a hand, but it actually has none of the potencies of a hand. Similarly, living beings are part and parcel of the Complete Whole, and if they are severed from the Complete Whole, the illusory representation of completeness cannot fully satisfy them.

The completeness of human life can be realized only when one engages in the service of the Complete Whole. All services in this world – whether social, political, communal, international or even interplanetary – will remain incomplete until they are dovetailed with the Complete Whole. When everything is dovetailed with the Complete Whole, the attached parts and parcels also become complete in themselves.

It is easy to say, but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else, or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in the right direction.

With respect to everyone’s  values & beliefs, whichever GUIDELINES ( Bible, Quran, Torah, Tripitaka-Buddhism, Agama-Jainism, Guru Granth Sahib-Sikhism, Gita or any other...) METHODS or WAYS work for us are all good.

THANK YOU.

MY SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION , SOURCE & THE GURUS:

I am inspired to hear & read the Vedic Scriptures by regularly listening to Sri Pandurang Shashtri Athvale, also known as Dadaji (speaks on Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Veda based discourses & western philosophy) and the association of Swadhyay Parivar every Sunday in Swadhya Kendra.

I also hear and read the discourses & literature on Vedic thoughts from Srila Prabhupada, his disciples & grand disciples ( HH Bhakti Rasamitra Swami, HH Chaitanya Charandas Prabhu, Shubha Vilas Prabhu, Vraja Vihari Dasa, Sutapa Das, Amarnath Dasa, HH Bhakticharu Swami, HH Urmila Devi Dasi, HH Sivarama Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, HH Romapada Swami, Lal Govind Prabhu (Gujarati & Hindi), Prahalad Maharaj in Surat (Gujarati) .......and many more from ISKCON......).

FYI: A good source of Vedic literature: Vedabase.io Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence & Srimad Bhagavatam (SB) is the nectar of all Vedic scriptures. Repeatedly hearing/reading & meditating the Scriptures, Eating Sanctified Pure Food and Chanting or Hearing the Vedic Mantras are nourishing to our heart (Soul), transcendental to our consciousness, purifying to our senses and thus helps us to overcome our weaknesses or deficiencies. Yes, we do have good qualities within us but there is always a room for improvement.

It is always a good idea to share our good thoughts & knowledge with others. Thanks to the Facebook & Social media for providing me the platform. Of course I use Smartphone & Google search to collect some data.

Besides my parents, wife, teachers, family & friends GREATFUL to EVERYONE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED in MY LIFE. Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue by Grace of the Guru & God (Krishna , Absolute Truth).

NOTE:

Many times a word Hearing is used instead of Listening when it comes to the Scriptures. Because Scriptures are so potent that simply by Hearing them even if you don’t try to interpret or analyze or understand them still there will be passive positive effects on our mind & senses.

We can follow either the Quran, Bible,Torah, Tripitaka-Buddhism, Agama-Jainism, Guru Granth Sahib-Sikhism, Gita or any other Philosophy which have faith in, makes sense to us, purifies us, elevates our consciousness and qualifies us to understand God and instill the love of God & his creation. (whichever way we can understand God — either Personal with many names or Impersonal as an universal consciousness & energy or Both: Personal & Impersonal ).

Don’t try to understand God by Name, Religion or Depiction (means image, picture...etc) but try to understand him by the Definition through Scriptures. The Transcendental subject of God & his creation cannot be understood by mental speculation. Some times people ask why God is Supreme? It is just like asking why is the circle circular? Just by definition, the circle is circular. Similarly by definition, God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes.

I see God, besides the above mentioned qualities, as an eternal living person (not a abstract or some kind of light) known by the name KRISHNA meaning one who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, forms, abodes, incarnations, activities, qualities, associates, is full of wisdom, bliss, and the cause of all causes.

Here Lord says in Gita

Bg 9.17 — I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.

TEXT 18: Gita 9.18: I am the goal, the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge and the most dear friend. I am the creation and the annihilation, the basis of everything, the resting place and the eternal seed.

Bg:13-12:— Accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth ( God ) – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance. ( Vedabase.io ).

WHAT DOES BELIEVING in GOD MEAN?

  1. We think about God 1st whenever we get any success (power, position, wealth, fame….. etc) in our lives. Of course we appreciate & grateful to our family, friends & society for our success. Believing in God doesn’t mean we don’t put in our efforts and depends on God for everything.
  2. Believing in God doesn’t prevent us from experiencing failure, aging, disease & death. But it gives us inner strength to withstand against the failure during depressing moments of our lives.
  3. We try to live our lives in Mode of Goodness as recommended in scriptures like the Gita. Mode of Goodness lifestyle means we are living a healthy life, sane life and least harm to other species/nature. And also we help our wives in cooking & cleaning rather then sitting on the couch…😂
  4. Unconditional relationship with God & His creation. We become more humble, loving & compassionate personality.
  5. There is No Loss (no loss of time or money…. LOL 😂) by believing in God. He is our ever well wisher like our parents are.

Here Lord says in Gita

Bg 7.19 — After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.

TEXT 29: 9.29: I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all.

TEXT 15: 15.15: I am seated in everyone’s heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness.

It is easy to say, but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else, or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in the right direction.

KOVIDA COMPASS:

As always a beautiful blog is written by Sutapa Das. He writes very thoughtful, meaningful, inspirational & friendly articles.

The word “kovida” appears in a celebrated verse from the Bhagavata-Purana:“Those who are intelligent and philosophically inclined (kovida) should endeavour for that which is beyond the material world. Happiness derived from material sources is obtained automatically, just as in course of time we obtain miseries even though we do not desire them” (Paraphrased, SB 1.5.18).

Just as COVID-19 appeared without any invitation, our allotted material happiness, prosperity and well-being automatically appears according to the karmic cycle. That’s not to say we don’t endeavour determinedly and act dutifully, but it does mean we understand that, on the material level, whatever will be, will be – que sera sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) This being the case, we need a spiritual compass to navigate the course of life which is riddled with surprises beyond our control?

1) Adjust your expectation – false expectations will bring great frustrations. We’re not designed to control the world, so don’t be surprised when things don’t go to plan. If something can go wrong it will – expect the unexpected. Disempowering? Not really, because the good news is that happiness is not outside of us. Contentment in life is not based on controlling the external world, but rather on conquering the inner world. We don’t have to wait for a change around us to find peace within ourselves.

2) Accept your situation – every external situation can bring internal growth. Properly digested experiences will nourish us with strength, wisdom, humility and powerful insight. The unexpected occurrences are part of a master plan to reconfigure our consciousness. We only have to learn some acceptance and stop fighting, denying, or cursing a situation. Our gut reaction is to blame others, blame the stars, blame the government or blame God. In the blame game, however, we end up staying the same.

3) Aspire for connection – in the midst of the unpredictability and rollercoaster ride of life, we need a permanent anchor. By rooting ourselves in the spiritual reality, we learn to view life’s occurrences on the backdrop of eternity. Come what may, success or failure, fortune or frustration, highs or lows, our spiritual status remains unharmed and untouched. This connection is known as “yoga,” a process which reconnects us to the eternal HQ. In the world but not of it.

Let the mantra become part of you: adjust your expectation, accept your situation, and aspire for connection.

LIFESTYLE MEDICINE:

Lifestyle Medicine is a new growing specialty in healthcare field. (See the website: American College of Lifestyle Medicine. https://lifestylemedicine.org/What-is-Lifestyle-Medicine)

In this modern technological innovative world many of us are suffering from diabetes, hypertension, obesity, heart diseases, stroke, anxiety, musculoskeletal pain, cancer...etc. We all know that our wealth, degree, position, power, nationalities and religions can’t prevent the diseases but healthy lifestyles can. If we spend sometime for health now, we will be rewarded later. If we are healthy & happy, we are benefiting ourselves, our family, friends & society. We can always do better and learn from each other.

Audio: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0mf6omta9ynug8a/LIFESTYLE%20MEDICINE.m4a?dl=0

Many of you are all ready living healthy lifestyles. Here are some lifestyle changes I am trying to implement in my life to live healthy & happily. Eat Healthy, Walk Briskly, Work Efficiently, Read Philosophically, Think Broad-mindedly, Write Thoughtfully, Talk Plensantly, Build Relationships Friendly, Laugh Loudly.... 😂, Sleep Soundly and Live Happily... 😆.

  1. Healthy breakfast/lunch & walk: Sprouted Mung (Green gram beans), green/ginger tea, mixed nuts, dates, figs, orange/clementines, two apples 🍎 for breakfast/lunch (no cooked foods but there is some room for junk foods... 😂) and 2-3 miles brisk walk during lunch hour at work.
  2. Nutritious dinner & walk-talk with wife: Big bowl of salad with veggie dinner (none/less roti or bread) around 6:00 pm, 2-3 miles walk-talk with wife after dinner, morning walk together in weekends, 15-20 minutes of daily stretching and gardening. Flexible schedule in weekends. The best time to listen to each other is when you go for walk together in nature so that you can absorb each other stress and nature will absorb your stress.....LOL 😂
  3. Hear/read/write philosophy to grow spiritually.
  4. Unconditional relationships with colleagues, friends & family. WhatsApp, phone call & get together with friends/families on regular basis brings more happiness..😊
  5. Listening to the soothing music/songs/mantras.
  6. Sound & adequate sleep (6-7 hours). Early to bed & early to rise makes you healthy, wealthy & wise.

Motion is the Lotion & Rest is Rust. Less cooking & more walking. Walk Walk Walk...😂. Keeps stretching & moving. Healthy lifestyles keeps us happy, healthy, energetic, slim, smiley and shiny like ray-ban glasses....😂

If you guys don’t believe me....see the evidence in these pictures... 😂https://photos.app.goo.gl/Z1kn284bbGmAeW4L8

Whatever exercises, foods,  philosophy and lifestyle keeps us healthy & happy are all good. Food is medicine. Its time to change our taste buds & gut flora... 😂. Let’s inspire each other....😃. “Prevention is better than Cure. Evolution is better than Revolution”. Of course besides conscious efforts from individuals to live healthy lifestyle, if you still get diseases, you need physician’s guidance & interventions to control/cure the illness.

Here Gita says

TEXT 5: Bg 6.5: One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.

TEXT 17: Bg 6.17: He who is regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system.

TEXT 8: Bg 17.8: Foods dear to those in the mode of goodness increase the duration of life, purify one’s existence and give strength, health, happiness and satisfaction. Such foods are juicy, fatty, wholesome, and pleasing to the heart.

KEEP PRAYING & SMILING 😊:

The situation is bad everywhere in the world. Many times in our lives, we can’t control the situation but the situation is controlling us. Every individual/family is suffering either from covid or non-covid issues.

Be Attentive...But Not Attached to your beautiful looks, position, power, wealth, fame, family & friends..... because in the end everyone will leave 😔.....we should get ready for the upcoming storm in our lives....

And also.... Be attentive but not attached to Corona..... 😂. Take necessary precautions.

Our mental status/happiness depends more on the thoughts inside us than on the situation around us. Don’t blame but forgive. Besides forgiving others also forgive yourself for your own mistakes...😃. Forgiveness is the greatest gift you can give to yourself for your own happiness.

Here God says in Gita:

TEXT 42: Bg 18.42: Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge, wisdom and religiousness – these are the natural qualities by which the brāhmaṇas (sober person) work.

KEEP PRAYING & SMILING....😊
