MANHATTAN’s RATHA-YATRA:

ISKCON’s annual RATHA-YATRA festival is celebrated with lots of energy, excitement & Devotion in Manhattan, New York, every year since 1976 ( 2nd Saturday of June every year ). It also get celebrated in Atlantic City ( 4th Saturday of June ), in Philadelphia ( 4th Saturday of September ) and in all other major cities of the world throughout the year.

Ratha Yatra literally means Chariot Festival, originated many-many years ago in India, in a city called Jagannatha Puri. Usually the deities of Lord Jagannath or Krishna, his elder brother Lord Balarama and sister Subhadra are served within the temple, but on the day of the Rath Yatra festival they are taken through the streets so that everyone can have the fortune of seeing them. 

The Festival of Chariots was first performed outside of India on July 9, 1967 in San Francisco and was initiated by Srila Prabhupada (ISKCON). It is now celebrated globally by 125 Nationalities throughout the year, there is unity in diversity. The Ratha-Yatra festival is accommodating every culture, community, color, country & consciousness. It is festival of love, joy, enthusiasm & togetherness. It is a great way to unite the communities & countries. MAKE THE WORLD UNITED AGAIN.

The devotees of the Lord become fully satisfied & joyous in association of other devotees while pulling the Chariot of the LORD JAGANNATHA means the Lord of the Universe the complete Whole. Everyone on 5th Avenue was looking extremely happy 😃 while dancing, singing & chanting the Vedic mantra. The women in Sari & Dresses and the Men in Dhoti-Kurta were looking very beautiful. Besides our inner Soul our OUTERWEAR also has an impact on people’s mind & the society. WOMEN LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL with COLORFUL COVERED CLOTHING. 

By chanting the Lord name Loudly on the 5th Avenue the Transcendental energy & vibes uplifted the Consciousness of Manhattan.

Transcendental subject of the God & his creation can not be understand by the mental speculation. Some times people ask why the God is Supreme? It is just like asking why the circle is circular? Just by definition the circle is circular similarly by definition God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes. 

I see the God besides above mention qualities as a eternal living person ( not a abstract or some kind of light ) known by name KRISHNA means who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, form, abode, many incarnation, activities, qualities, associates, full of wisdom, bliss, cause of all causes.

GITA a BOOK of SPIRITUAL SCIENCE:

Many times people mistakenly identify the Gita as a religious book, but in reality the Gita does not talk about any religion. The Gita is the book of True Knowledge, the Spiritual Science to know about my inner Spiritual nature.

NOTE: The 1st time the Gita was spoken by the Supreme God Krishna to the Sun-God Vivasavan about 2 billion years ago and then passed on through the Guru-Disciple chain to Lord Manu ( father of mankind ) to his son & disciple, King Isvaku.....and the last time the Gita was spoken again by Supreme God Krishna to Arjuna about 5000 years ago. There were NO Hindu, Abrahamic, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism or any other religions in those days.

The Twelve Bullet Points Gita talks about Me, not about any religion:

1. My Identity: To know myself , who am I ? what is my real identity? I am an eternal soul not a physical body. 

Bg 2.17 -- That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.

2. My Birth & Desires: Why am I born in a specific family? My specific desires & specific actions to enjoy this world are causes for my birth in a specific family. 

3. My Profession & Stages of My life: Choosing my profession according to my passion. Different stages of my life, starting from childhood, are to execute the social responsibility.

4. My Mentality: How am I reacting while facing this world? The Gita talks about Three Gunas or Modes of Material Nature or My Mentality or Consciousness which signifies my thinking, my behavior, my actions, my interaction with the world.....

Bg 14.5 -- Material nature consists of three modes – goodness, passion and ignorance. When the eternal living entity comes in contact with nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, he becomes conditioned by these modes.

5. My YOGA ( Karma, Knowledge, Dhyana & Spiritual ) to fulfill my life. 

6. My Lifestyle, Food & Health: My Lifestyle & Food have effects on my Health.

7. My Relationship with the Creator ( God ) & his Creation: The Gita talks about who God is? How can I understand the God? My relationship with the God & his creation. 

Bg 14.4 -- It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kuntī, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father.

8. My Duty or Dharma: Besides maintaining me & my family what is my Dharma or Duty? 

9. My Direction/Destiny: My overall direction in life is based on my consciousness & desires. Where I am heading?...

10. My Reformation: How to overcome the situation? How to change my thinking, my behavior, my lifestyles...and my direction?

11. My Happiness & Liberation: Once I understand myself & God, I will understand everything happening in my life.....there will be no complaints...LOL....and I will be Happy & Liberated ( Moksha ) here only.

Bg 14.20 -- When the embodied being is able to transcend these three modes associated with the material body, he can become free from birth, death, old age and their distresses and can enjoy nectar even in this life.

12. My Free Will: Finally, the Gita talks about my Free Will to live my life as I wish.
Bg 18.63 -- Thus I have explained to you knowledge still more confidential. Deliberate on this fully, and then do what you wish to do.

The Gita is not a book of commandments, but it is book of the choices & consequences of choosing these choices. It is a book which reveals the vision of God who respects the human Intelligence & Free Will. Yes, it is up to me how deliberately I want to use my Free Will & Intelligence in making my choices in the life while interacting with this world. At the end of the day my choices, my thinking, my words, my actions & behavior have impact on me, my family, friends, society and the nation I live in. 

The philosophy of the Gita will empower us with the spiritual intelligence & wisdom to live thoughtful, compassionate, enthusiastic, peaceful, happy & inspirational lives. Some times I get tempted or carried away to encourage my family & friends to read the Gita everyday because the Gita is a like a fruit, so delicious, delightful, tasty & juicy....LOL 😀.

WHY SUICIDE?

Anthony Bourdain & Kate Spade two very famous celebrity committed Suicide recently.
Suicide rate have increased significantly by 25% in USA, it is like an epidemic. It is painful for person who is committing suicide as well as everyone surrounded by him/her.

Why are so many famous, successful, talented, wealthy and also common people committing suicide? Most likely because of this two reason: 
1. People committing suicide do not find meaning to live life after accomplishing materially by means of fame, power, talent, wealth or fashion.

2. They think problems of living is much more greater then dying. Many people struggle to survive in this world and there are many other suffering from chronic mental illnesses.

How to prevent or fight against Suicide?
1. SB: 10.14.58 says padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām: There is struggle & danger at every steps in our life. No one is immune from day to day problems of the life mainly related to family, work, health & wealth. These issues are not permanent, they come & go like summer & winter and we must learn to tolerate them. You are not alone, everyone is in same boat.

2. Do not focus or spend all of your energy for material comfort or development only. From inner core we are Spiritual being covered by material body. Yes material success is important but we also need to strengthen ourselves internally and grow spiritually to live happy, peaceful and pleasant life.

3. The ultimate meaning or purpose of human life is Devotion to the Supreme God. This is only relationship in our life which is Eternal. By maintaining Devotional relationship with the Supreme our life become Devotional & Blissful.

4. Seek medical guidance for any curable mental or physical health issues. We should empower ourselves with Spiritual Wisdom, Spiritual intelligence & Devotion to face the challenges in this world.

Bg 2.14 -- O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O son of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Bg 2.15 -- O best among men [Arjuna], the person who is not disturbed by happiness and distress and is steady in both is certainly eligible for liberation.

Bg 5.7 -- One who works in devotion, who is a pure soul, and who controls his mind and senses is dear to everyone, and everyone is dear to him. Though always working, such a man is never entangled ( Vedabase.com ).

MOTHER COW is the SOLUTION:

Like Mother who is the pillar of the individual home, Mother Cow is the pillar of the individual nation & whole planet. Protecting & Taking care of the Cows will resolve our Survival, Sociocultural, Economical, Pollution and Health problems, which indirectly also help us for our Spiritual growth.

वशां देवा उपजीवंति वशां मनुष्या उप । वशेदं सर्वं भवतु यावतु सूर्यो विपश्यति ॥
Atharvana Veda 10-10-34: The Gods and men live on cow products. Till the Sun shines, the universe will have Cows. The whole universe depends on the support of cow.

1. Directly or indirectly, the whole human population can’t survive without Cow milk and milk products.

2. Per Ayurvedic texts, Panchagavya Medicine is made from Cow milk, ghee, curd, urine & dung are cure for many chronic diseases. 

3. Cow urine & dung are the best free organic pesticides & fertilizer can increase farming production significantly.

4. Gobar Gas byproducts of Cow dung is the source of organic economical fuel & energy without pollution. Germany & Japan have opened up many Biogas plant recently.

5. Treating Cow as a pet & family member will give us plenty of love, brings out all good qualities within us, and can uplift our Consciousness. This can resolve many sociocultural problems & also help us Spiritually.

6. Bullock ( male cow ) useful in plowing our farm....economical & pollution free.

7. Keeping the Cow & Bullock at home are maintenance & pollution free compared to maintaining our Car. Actually, rather than us maintaining them, they are maintaining us.......LOL😆. 

8. Having Cow farms also indirectly prevents the conversion of farming land into concrete land, thus preserving nature.

9. Countries overall GDP ( revenues & wealth ) also depends on how many Cows they have. Worldwide GDP from milk industry is about 450 billion us dollars.

Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita 18.44 that the activities of the productive class of society should be krishi-go-rakshya-vanijyam: agriculture, cow protection, and trade. 

Five thousand years ago Lord Krishna have spoken the importance of Gita & Cow in our lives to save this Human Civilization. With Two acres land, Two cow and Two scriptures ( Gita & Bhagavatam ) we can live very happy, prosperous & peaceful life on earth planet...LOL...🤓. Heaven is here.

In fast running very advanced technological world many of us can’t able to keep Cow directly at our home but at least indirectly we can support them by not killing or eating them. Cow protection is not about sentiment, nationality or religion but it is the necessities & the solution to Save this planet.

In this matter ISKCON, a spiritual organization promoting Krishna or God consciousness has changed many people in huge numbers from varied cultural backgrounds all over the world from passionate cow meat eaters to divine cow worshippers.

Superficially, He is a mere cowherd boy. But let that cowherd boy, who holds within Him the power of controlling the whole universe, be satisfied with us. We want to worship that Lord who has taken the humble position of the king of the cows. SB 10.12. Vedabase.com

Transcendental subjects of God & his creation can not be understand by mental speculation. Some times people ask why God is Supreme? It is just like asking why circle is circular? Just by definition circle is circular similarly by definition God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes. 

I see the God besides above mention qualities as a eternal living person ( not a abstract or some kind of light ) known by name Krishna means who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, form, abode, many incarnation, activities, qualities, associates, full of wisdom, bliss, cause of all causes.

Bg 9.17 -- I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.

Bg:13-12:-- Accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth ( God ) – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance. ( Vedabase.com ).
