MANHATTAN’s RATHA-YATRA:

ISKCON’s annual RATHA-YATRA festival is celebrated with lots of energy, excitement & Devotion in Manhattan, New York, every year since 1976 ( 2nd Saturday of June every year ). It also get celebrated in Atlantic City ( 4th Saturday of June ), in Philadelphia ( 4th Saturday of September ) and in all other major cities of the world throughout the year.

Ratha Yatra literally means Chariot Festival, originated many-many years ago in India, in a city called Jagannatha Puri. Usually the deities of Lord Jagannath or Krishna, his elder brother Lord Balarama and sister Subhadra are served within the temple, but on the day of the Rath Yatra festival they are taken through the streets so that everyone can have the fortune of seeing them.

The Festival of Chariots was first performed outside of India on July 9, 1967 in San Francisco and was initiated by Srila Prabhupada (ISKCON). It is now celebrated globally by 125 Nationalities throughout the year, there is unity in diversity. The Ratha-Yatra festival is accommodating every culture, community, color, country & consciousness. It is festival of love, joy, enthusiasm & togetherness. It is a great way to unite the communities & countries. MAKE THE WORLD UNITED AGAIN.

The devotees of the Lord become fully satisfied & joyous in association of other devotees while pulling the Chariot of the LORD JAGANNATHA means the Lord of the Universe the complete Whole. Everyone on 5th Avenue was looking extremely happy 😃 while dancing, singing & chanting the Vedic mantra. The women in Sari & Dresses and the Men in Dhoti-Kurta were looking very beautiful. Besides our inner Soul our OUTERWEAR also has an impact on people’s mind & the society. WOMEN LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL with COLORFUL COVERED CLOTHING.

By chanting the Lord name Loudly on the 5th Avenue the Transcendental energy & vibes uplifted the Consciousness of Manhattan.

Lord Jagannatha says in Gita
Bg 9.17 -- I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas. Vedabase.com

Bg 9.18 -- I am the goal, the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge and the most dear friend. I am the creation and the annihilation, the basis of everything, the resting place and the eternal seed. Vedabase.com

 ........ JAY JAGANNATHA.......

Thank You.

MY SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION , SOURCE & THE GURUS:

I am inspired to hear & read the Vedic Scriptures by regularly listening Sri Pandurang Shashtri Athvale known as Dadaji ( speak on Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Veda based discourses & western philosophy ) and the association of Swadhyay Parivar every Sunday in Swadhya Kendra.

I also hear and read the discourses & literature on Vedic thoughts from Srila Prabhupada, his disciples & grand disciples ( HH Bhakti Rasamitra Swami, HH Chaitanya Charandas Prabhu, Shubha Vilas Prabhu, Sutapa Das, Amarnath Dasa, HH Bhakticharu Swami, HH Urmila Devi Dasi, HH Sivarama Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, HH Romapada Swami, Lal Govind Prabhu ( Gujarati & Hindi) Prahalad Maharaj in Surat (Gujarati) .......and many more from ISKCON......).

FYI: Good source of the Vedic literature: Vedabase.com Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence & Srimad Bhagavatam (SB) is the nectar of all Vedic scriptures. Hearing & reading these scriptures, Eating Sanctified Pure Food and Chanting Vedic Mantra daily are purifying to our senses, nourishing to our heart ( Soul ), transcendental to our consciousness, uplifting to our emotions and thus perfecting our Free Will. Otherwise this powerful material world will degrade us.

It is always good idea to share our good thoughts & knowledge with others. I am posting articles based on the Vedic scriptures and expressing my opinion, thoughts, understanding & emotions. Writing/sharing the articles is my Devotion to the God/Gita/Guru. Of course I use Smartphone/Google/Pexels search to collect some data. Thanks to the Facebook/Social media for providing me the platform.

Besides my parents, wife, teachers, family & friends GREATFUL to EVERYONE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED in MY LIFE. Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue by Grace of the Guru & God ( Krishna , Absolute Truth ).

NOTE:
I use the word Hearing instead of Listening when it comes to the Scriptures. Because Scriptures are so potent that simply by Hearing them even if you don’t try to interpret or analyze or understand them still there will be passive positive effects on our mind & senses.

We can follow either the Quran, Bible, Judaism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Gita or any other Philosophy which makes sense to us, purify us , elevate our consciousness and qualify us to understand the God and instill the love for God & his creation. ( whichever way we can understand the God, Form or Formless..or Universal Consciousness or Energy ...etc ).

Don’t try to understand the God by Name, Religion or Depiction ( means image, picture...etc ) but try to understand him by the Definition through the Scriptures. Transcendental subject of the God & his creation can not be understand by the mental speculation. Some times people ask why the God is Supreme? It is just like asking why the circle is circular? Just by definition the circle is circular similarly by definition God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes.

I see the God besides above mention qualities as a eternal living person ( not a abstract or some kind of light ) known by name KRISHNA means who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, form, abode, many incarnation, activities, qualities, associates, full of wisdom, bliss, cause of all causes.

Bg 9.17 -- I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.

Bg:13-12:-- Accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth ( God ) – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance. ( Vedabase.com ).
