WHY CHARITY WORK?

Directly or indirectly, there are many people involved in many charitable activities all over the world. By doing Charity work unconditionally we get some kind of inner satisfaction & fulfillments. Charity work in layman’s word means the donation of money. But Charity really means giving our efficiency with Devotion in the form of our time, skills, wealth, knowledge, power, position, technology....yes anything in service of the God which includes humanity work.

Types of Charity Work:
A. Charity Work at Material platforms by giving food, clothes, shelter, medicine & money. Charity by giving material things is good welfare activities especially at the time of emergency but can’t uplift the society or resolve the issues permanently.

B. Charity Work at Spiritual platform: THE HIGHEST CHARITY WORK is to UPLIFT THE SPIRITUAL CONSCIOUSNESS of the society by learning, practicing, & sharing the SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE which will uplift our discipline, morality, behavior, wisdom, enthusiasm, efficiency, health, ethics, relationships, happiness and thus indirectly IMPROVE OUR FAMILY, HEALTH, PROFESSIONAL & SOCIOECONOMIC LIVES and also give us some common sense to CHOOSE RIGHT POLITICAL LEADERS which will improve our NATION’s LIFE... ..LOL....a win-win strategy.

HUMAN LIFE is NOT a JOURNEY to RESOLVE the MATERIAL PROBLEMS of LIFE but it IS a VOYAGE for SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION.

Spiritual Knowledge also saves us from the repeated Birth-Death cycle, the permanent solution of birth, disease, aging & death. NO BIRTH means NO school, work, house or spouse means NO HEADACHE...LOL 🤩😎🤪.

Why is Charity necessary for our Spiritual development?

1. By default our minds are possessive of the things earned or maintained by us like our skills, power, position, knowledge, workplace, wealth, our family...etc and including our own body.

2. Possessiveness brings the agitation, anger & greed which can hamper our spiritual development.

3. Many times we have seen it that too much wealth is cause for degradation of the spiritual culture if not utilized properly.

4. We are not proprietor of this world, at the end of the day nothing remain with us. So ideally speaking we should cultivate the quality of Charity to gradually diminish the possessiveness from materiality and redirect our energy toward the Spirituality.

Lord Krishna in Gita has spoken everything about Charity. We should do our homework before giving out the Charity.

Bg 17.20 -- Charity given out of duty, without expectation of return, at the proper time and place, and to a worthy person is considered to be in the mode of goodness.

Bg 17.21 -- But charity performed with the expectation of some return, or with a desire for fruitive results, or in a grudging mood is said to be charity in the mode of passion.

Bg 17.22 -- And charity performed at an impure place, at an improper time, to unworthy persons, or without proper attention and respect is said to be in the mode of ignorance. Vedabase.com

It is easy to say, but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else, or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in the right direction.

Have a Charitable Day.

Thank You.

MY SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION , SOURCE & THE GURUS:

I am inspired to hear & read the Vedic Scriptures by regularly listening to Sri Pandurang Shashtri Athvale, also known as Dadaji ( speaks on Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Veda based discourses & western philosophy ) and the association of Swadhyay Parivar every Sunday in Swadhya Kendra.

I also hear and read the discourses & literature on Vedic thoughts from Srila Prabhupada, his disciples & grand disciples ( HH Bhakti Rasamitra Swami, HH Chaitanya Charandas Prabhu, Shubha Vilas Prabhu, Sutapa Das, Amarnath Dasa, HH Bhakticharu Swami, HH Urmila Devi Dasi, HH Sivarama Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, HH Romapada Swami, Lal Govind Prabhu ( Gujarati & Hindi) Prahalad Maharaj in Surat (Gujarati) .......and many more from ISKCON......).

FYI: A good source of Vedic literature: Vedabase.com . Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence & Srimad Bhagavatam (SB) is the nectar of all Vedic scriptures. Hearing & reading these scriptures, Eating Sanctified Pure Food and Chanting Vedic Mantras daily purify our senses, nourishing our heart ( Soul ), are transcendental to our consciousness, uplifting to our emotions and thus perfect our Free Will. Otherwise this powerful material world will degrade us.

It is always a good idea to share our good thoughts & knowledge with others. Thanks to the Facebook/Social media for providing me the platform. Of course I use Smartphone/Google Pexels search to collect some data.

Besides my parents, wife, teachers, family & friends GREATFUL to EVERYONE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED in MY LIFE. Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue by Grace of the Guru & God ( Krishna , Absolute Truth ).

NOTE:
Many times a word Hearing is used instead of Listening when it comes to the Scriptures. Because Scriptures are so potent that simply by Hearing them even if you don’t try to interpret or analyze or understand them still there will be passive positive effects on our mind & senses.

We can follow either the Quran, Bible, Judaism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Gita or any other Philosophy which makes sense to us, purifies us , elevates our consciousness and qualifies us to understand God and instill the love of God & his creation. ( whichever way we can understand the God, Form or Formless..or Universal Consciousness or Energy ...etc ).

Don’t try to understand God by Name, Religion or Depiction ( means image, picture...etc ) but try to understand him by the Definition through Scriptures. The Transcendental subject of God & his creation cannot be understood by mental speculation. Some times people ask why God is Supreme? It is just like asking why is the circle circular? Just by definition, the circle is circular. Similarly by definition, God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes.

I see God, besides the above mentioned qualities, as an eternal living person ( not a abstract or some kind of light ) known by the name KRISHNA meaning one who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, forms, abodes, incarnations, activities, qualities, associates, is full of wisdom, bliss, and the cause of all causes.

Bg 9.17 -- I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.

Bg:13-12:-- Accepting the importance of self-realization; and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth ( God ) – all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides this whatever there may be is ignorance. ( Vedabase.com ).

THERE is NO HAPPINESS in THIS WORLD:

This Blog is completely opposite to last weeks Blog " How to be Happy ? "...SAD 😢. Yes true, there is no happiness in this world but we can still laugh....LOL😂.

In Vedic Scriptures a synonym for a University is called Vidyalayam meaning an educational institute to get an abundance of knowledge. A Library is known as Grandhalayam meaning a place where you find plenty of books of Knowledge. Similarly Planet Earth is described as a Dukhaalyam Asasvatam meaning a place where you experience endless miseries and Mrityuloka meaning a place where people are born to die. In short Planet Earth is a place where people are born for innumerable struggle, suffering and death.

Every life on Planet Earth wants to be happy & peaceful all the time. Unfortunately happy moments are very flickering, and cannot last for long time due to the duality of nature and this material world, meaning everything rotates in a cycle like Illness-Recovery, Obstacles-No obstacles, Birth-Death, Success-Failure, Victory-Defeat, Praise-Criticism, Winter-Summer, Monsoon-Drought, Happiness- Sorrowness....etc.

There are many kinds of unthinkable tragic events that continue in people's lives throughout the globe since time immemorial. Suffering is inevitable in this world. Vedic Scriptures SB 10.14.58 says " padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām " means there is struggle & danger at every steps in our life. There is non stop struggle in our & our loved ones life. How can we live & face the unstoppable challenges, obstacles & miseries in this world?

Spiritual Knowledge & practices means Spiritual Yoga will give us a new perspective, understanding, strength, purpose to live and a new, brighter outlook toward life. Human life is a precious gift given to us, a reward or an honor rather than a sorrowful, misery-filled, or chaotic life.

By close observation & experience, we can understand that every problem of life is related to the Birth-Death cycle. Problems start with our Birth & end with our Death. Once we realize that we are an eternal Soul, and not a Body, We ourselves & Our Loved ones ALWAYS LIVE in this world in some form. We should not be fearful or disturbed by unthinkable tragic events happening in our life & around us.

Bg 2.13 -- As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change. Vedabase.com

Bg 2.14 -- O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Bg 15.7 -- The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.

Bg 18.58 -- If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.

It is easy to say but difficult to follow. I am in the same boat with everyone else or I may even be behind, but thinking in the right direction will help us to go in right direction.

Have Not a Unhappy Day.

Thank You.

HOW to BE HAPPY 😃?

There is Happiness Everywhere in This World. Don’t lose your happiness after reading this article..LOL. Don’t take life too personally..LOL.😭😇😁

By nature, we are pleasure seeking souls. Throughout life, our mind & senses are constantly looking for comfort, success, wealth, fame, power, enjoyment, satisfaction...etc, meaning directly or indirectly we all are searching for HAPPINESS. The Ancient book, Bhagavad Gita has described every kind of happiness available in this world explained below with various examples.

1. Happiness in Mode of Ignorance ( Tamsi nature ):
Happiness derived from Intoxication which gives us some kind of instant but transient pleasure by making us temporarily unconscious...LOL 🤩🤪😎. Happiness has to be enjoyed in a conscious state of mind. Otherwise it is not happiness, but rather is about forgetfulness of the surrounding situation, pain or sorrow of this world which makes us think that we are happy, but in reality it is misery. Happiness derived from sleep, laziness or thrills ( Six flag rides, Bungee jumping or Gambling ...LOL) is also in the Mode of Ignorance. These kind of happinesses are very flickering or quickly disappear once our consciousness comes back.

Bg 18.39 -- And that happiness which is blind to self-realization, which is delusion from beginning to end and which arises from sleep, laziness and illusion is said to be of the nature of ignorance.

2. Happiness in Mode of Passion ( Rajshri nature ):
This kind of happiness is dependent on material objects & subjects like buying nice clothes, cars, house, eating palatable food, watching sports & movies, vacationing..etc. Happiness derived from fame & power by associating with celebrities, politicians or anyone, by doing charity work....etc. They want to be in the center & need constant recognition for their good work. Sometimes passion of fame & power creates havoc & all kinds of scandals in society. Eventually we get filled & fade up with worldly mundane subjects & objects. It tastes like a nectar in the beginning but is a poison at the end. Maybe for some people, it always tastes like a nectar....LOL.

Bg 18.38 -- That happiness which is derived from contact of the senses with their objects and which appears like nectar at first but poison at the end is said to be of the nature of passion.

3. Happiness in Mode of Goodness ( Satvik nature ):
Happiness derived from unconditional spiritual and material welfare activities. Whenever we have worked hard with compassion, kindness, ethics, discipline, modesty & honesty despite the mistakes, deficiencies or weaknesses, either in a building relationships, earning money, executing social, professional or political responsibilities .....or any other projects of our life there is long lasting inner satisfaction & happiness.

Bg 18.37 -- That which in the beginning may be just like poison but at the end is just like nectar and which awakens one to self-realization is said to be happiness in the mode of goodness.

Happiness in Mode of Goodness leads us toward Transcendental or Spiritual Happiness.

4. Happiness in Transcendental Mode ( Spiritual nature ):
Our Mind meaning Mentality or Consciousness is designed in such a way that if we can’t UPGRADE it with Spiritual thoughts then by default It will DEGRADE us. It is difficult for us to sustain the Mode of Goodness Behavior in this world without daily practice of Spiritual Sadhna or Spiritual Yoga. True Everlasting Happiness or Bliss or Spiritual Happiness is a byproduct of Spiritual Yoga. This eternal & endless happiness does not depend on any material subjects or objects, but rather it is internal, from within. From the inner core, we are eternal spiritual souls not a temporary body that means happiness obtained from the spiritual entertainment is more long lasting then that achieved from a bodily one.

Bg 18.54 -- One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman and becomes fully joyful. He never laments or desires to have anything. He is equally disposed toward every living entity. In that state he attains pure devotional service unto Me.

At some point in our lives, everyone of us has experienced every type of happiness available in this world which is indirectly dependent on the type of ASSOCIATION we have. God has given us Free Will to choose our ASSOCIATION & HAPPINESS.

Have a Happy Day.

Thank You.

SOUND is EVERYTHING:

CREATION--ENTANGLEMENT--LIBERATION through SOUNDS. Liberation means Transformation, not a Transportation of a Soul.
SB 2.10.1 : Bhāgavatam Is the Answer to All Questions.

The whole material creation began from Sound and eventually will dissolve into Sound. The sequence of material creation is as follows: Began with Sound...then came Ether or Space....then Air....Fire...Water... and finally Earth. 1. When sense organ Ear comes in contact with the Space we hear the Sound. 2. Touch is produced when skin comes in contact with the Air. 3. Tongue in contact with the Water creates the Taste. 4. Eye in contact with Fire creates the Form. 5. Nose in contact with the Earth creates the Smell.

Even in our personal life, Sound is the beginning of everything starting from childhood. We started walking, talking, learning our ABCs... etc everything began with hearing the Sounds. Husband moves in every direction by hearing the sweet or bitter Sounds of his wife..LOL 😂 🤪😎

Our life can be entangled in this world by hearing the Sounds of worldly mundane subject matters or can be liberated by hearing the Sounds of Vedic Mantras. Vedic philosophy is a science, not a sentiment. Intellectual lectures by HH Urmila Devi Dasi on Creation, Entanglement and Liberation through Sounds. https://youtu.be/unYmadFXJDk

HH Urmila Devi Dasi: One of the many disciples of Srila Prabhupada, born & brought up in New York, is practicing the Philosophy of Sanatan Dharma ( Eternal path of duty, wisdom & spiritual development ) since her college life. She is very funny, dynamic, eloquent, humble, polite, has clear fundamentals in philosophy, and is deeply in love with the Indian culture.

SB 3.26.32 -- When egoism in ignorance is agitated by the sex energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the subtle element sound is manifested, and from sound come the ethereal sky and the sense of hearing.

SB 2.10.1 -- Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam there are ten divisions of statements regarding the following: the creation of the universe, subcreation, planetary systems, protection by the Lord, the creative impetus, the change of Manus, the science of God, returning home, back to Godhead, liberation, and the summum bonum. Have a Sound Day.

Thank You.
