LOVING RELATIONSHIPS.

COMES WITH RESPECTS & SPIRTUALITY.

RESPECTS:
When any relationship gets closer we find out all the good, the bad and mixed about each other. In few years of marriage life or any close relationship we find out the weaknesses, the strengths and the idiosyncrasies of the other person and with that come familiarity. With familiarity it  breeds contempt, we know each other ugly stuff and one points to the other and respect disappears becomes something else, relationship becomes very dysfunctional.  So if you have a close relationship, a loving relationship it's essential that there is respect. Even if you know all the shortcomings still respect the other person.

SPIRITUALITY:
A learned person is he who can see the good quality more broadly spiritual equality in all living beings regardless of their life form or who they are or where they come from or their culture, their background, their religion. There is intrinsic world within every form of life. As a eternal, knowledgeable and blissful soul I should respect every other form of life moving according to the laws of nature. In every form of life there is aspiration to reach to the supreme goal of life.

Bg 5.18 — The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste]. (vedabase.com).

MY CONSCIOUSNESS.

First stage of Self Realization is to know myself where am I standing in terms of my nature or consciousness. What is my defect?  How to raise my standard or Develop higher taste in life?

CONSCIOUSNESS HAS NO RELIGION and NO NATIONALITY.

Our speech, action, behavior and tolerance all are depends on our consciousness or nature. We all have seen & experienced that while facing desirable or undesirable situation everyone of us react differently depend on our nature. This is the cause of the varieties of happiness and distress. Our behavior is reflection of our Consciousness ( mind, ego & intellect).

Human and all other living species have three kind of nature or Guna (Sanskrit word) described in Scriptures known as three modes of material nature.

1. Mode of goodness (Satvik nature) : Person in this mode is full of spiritual wisdom not so much affected by material miseries. He/She is very effulgent, self satisfied or self contained, self controlled and compassionate to everyone. Has lesser desire for sensual pleasure or sense gratification.

2. Mode of passion ( Rajshri nature) : Person in this mode have unlimited desire for sense enjoyment and works very hard to fulfill those desire. Whole material world is more or less in the mode of passion. We need Mode of passion to survive in this world.

3. Mode of ignorance ( Tamsi nature): Arrogance, anger, harshness, greedy, envy, too much self centered...etc these qualities belong to those of in mode of ignorance. Person in this mode prone to have bad habits, overeating, oversleeping....etc

WE NEED to INTROSPECT OURSELVES WHERE is MY MATERIAL MODE or MY NATURE or CONSCIOUSNESS FITS in ?

Our material modes or nature or Gunas fluctuates throughout the day. Some times of the day we are in really good mood and some time in worst mood. We are mixtures of three modes. Other meaning of Guna is rope means to tie down something. We are tied down by these ropes or modes of material nature in this world causes for varieties of happiness & distress.

Goal of human life is how to raise my standard and come to mode of goodness 1st and remain steady in any given situation of our life and eventually transcendent from these modes of material nature and come to spiritual platform......will free us from Birth-Death cycle and all miseries of this material world. Yes it is possible by understanding the Scriptures and spiritual practices ( whichever scripture & spiritual practices work for us ).

COPY and PASTE.

Copy and Paste are good commands for your computer but not for your life.

Today in Tech Age world many information available at our fingertips. Whenever and wherever we need can just copy from search engines and paste wherever required. The culture of ‘Ctrl C’ & ‘Ctrl V’ is very rampant so much so that its just available on the right click on your command.

We frequently use these commands while preparing project, presentations, writing articles, assignments etc... difficult to survive without it. There is no problem using ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ commands while making reports or presentations but do not apply same in our life. Many people now a days want to ‘copy’ others lifestyle, hairstyle,  speaking style, dressing style...even in Spirituality and ‘paste’ in their lives, in the name of being well received by others or in the name of fashion. And when they can’t copy completely end up with frustration while comparing themselves with others.

Comparison is a systematic way of undervaluing your uniqueness and indirectly insulting creator. God has created us, if he wanted to make us someone else, he would have rather created some one else and not us. So we need to be grateful for our individuality and focus on ‘our plate’ instead of looking for what’s there in ‘others plate’. Animals can teach humans better in this regard - they focus on what they have but not what they lack.

The Bhagavad Gita (3.35) has something similar to offer, “It is far better to discharge one's prescribed duties, even though faultily, than another's duties perfectly. Destruction in the course of performing one's own duty is better than engaging in another's duties, for to follow another's path is dangerous". And the Gita (18.45) also assures that everyone can attain perfection by working according to one’s nature. We see in Mahabharat also that Pandavas followed this principle and everyone respected each other’s talents. No one tried to copy each other rather they encouraged each other and that was one of the reasons of their victory in the fratricidal war.

While living in this world we need to bring out best within us and use our God-given talents to make constructive contributions and not just live a life filled with ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ and  fulfilling other’s expectations from us.

ANXIETY EPIDEMIC.

FYI: Talking about avoidable cause of anxiety. Anxiety due to chemical imbalance in body has to be treated medically.

MLK ( Martin Luther King ) said we live in age of guided missile and misguide men. Technological power have outrun our spiritual power. The means to live have outdistanced us from purpose to live. Guiding external world have misguided our inner world. Recent studied showed many people all over the world live in anxiety disorder. Anxiety leads into depression and suicide, WHO said approximately 1 M people committee suicide every year.

In our day to day life we are making so many mental decisions for our daily material needs like buying clothes we look at the brand, store, color, design...etc based on our social status. Throughout the life for our daily needs we make more decisions then our mental capacity, it is over worked for our mental machinery and source for anxiety. After age 40-45 people in general suffering from some anxiety due to more responsibilities, chronic health issues, family issues, jobs related issues, socioeconomic problems.....etc. Some of our problems overblown by our mind, LIFE DETERMINES PROBLEMS WE DETERMINED SIZE OF THE PROBLEM.

Life is like a rocking boat get unstable with ocean of material waves. If we analyze the any problems of life three things are common.
1.source of identity
2.source of shelter and
3.source of pleasure. ...........

We are trying to connect our identity with social status, designation and also identifying ourselves with physical body which all are false or temporary identities. Throughout the life we work very hard to maintain our bodily demands & care based on our false or temporary identity cause for varieties of misery and anxiety. To relieve from anxieties we take shelter of some kind of recreation pleasure activities which are also temporary. In short connecting ourselves with temporary identity ( cause for anxiety ) and taking temporary shelter & having temporary pleasure can not cure anxiety permanently.

By Hearing/reading the Scriptures we realise that my real identity is not based on social status, designation or physical body. Once we understand that my true identity is I am eternal Soul living in physical Body our outlook will change, we will make thoughtful decisions for our needs & care not based on our external status and life get less complicated. Based on our true identity our source of shelter and pleasure will also change. Just like to stabilize rocking boat we need to anchor the boat to fix objects similarly we need to anchor our shaky Soul from material misery with Supreme Soul that is our real shelter and source of eternal pleasure or Bliss.

Bg 16.11-12 — They believe that to gratify the senses is the prime necessity of human civilization. Thus until the end of life their anxiety is immeasurable. Bound by a network of hundreds of thousands of desires and absorbed in lust and anger, they secure money by illegal means for sense gratification.
Bg 15.7 — The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.
Bg 18.58 — If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost. (Vedabase.com)

PLANT BASED DIETS.

Recently done many studies are supporting plant based diets to lose weigh and improve longevity. Plant based diet can reverse and cure heart disease & many other diseases. Beside foods our life style, 30 minute walking or any exercises, our thoughts and family & friends support help us to live healthy & long life. HOLISTIC approach to live happy & healthy life.

PREVENTION is BETTER then CURE.....EVOLUTION is BETTER then REVOLUTION.

Out of 8 limbs of Yoga ( Yoga means state of consciousness, it is not about physical fitness ) one of the important step is Ahara or Food we eat. Food is very essential step to purity our senses & mind. Physical fitness is another limb of Yoga.

Scriptures also described about type of foods we eat & it's effects on mind. Three kinds of food according to the three modes of material nature or consciousness.

A. Foods dear to those in the mode of goodness increase the duration of life, purify one’s existence and give strength, health, happiness and satisfaction. Such foods are juicy, fatty, wholesome, and pleasing to the heart like Fruits, Vegetables, Milk products and Whole grains. Animal fat is also available in the form of milk & milk products like butter yogurt, cheese...etc.

B. Foods that are too bitter, too sour, salty, hot, pungent, dry and burning are dear to those in the mode of passion. Such foods cause distress, misery and disease.

C. Food that is stale, tasteless, decomposed and putrid, and food consisting of remnants and untouchable things is dear to those in the mode of darkness.

Former President Bill Clinton & Vice President Al Gore and many CEOs of big big companies have changed for good to be Vegetarian. Plant based diet help us and environment...it is Win....Win situation.

In modern fast running material world it is not possible to follow all above mention guidelines, we can try our best.

HOW DO I LOVE or LIKE EVERYONE?

Life is all about loving relationships with everyone ( in theory sounds very good but very difficult to practice). How can I love or like everyone in this world?

LOVE BEGINS FROM ORIGIN: Love is unconditional normally limited to few lives surrounding or connected to us can expand to unlimited lives including nature once our consciousness expand.

Best example in this world of pure unconditional love is between mother & newly born. Other loves are mixed with lust ( desire & sense gratification) depends on our develop consciousness. If we love ourselves as it is then possibly we can love or like someone as it is.

1. If you love your parents then you love your siblings:.....Just imagine the moment you find out while meeting unknown person in city that he/she is your lost brother or sister while ago....all of a sudden your relationship become so deeper....because both of your parents are same.

2. If you love your body then you can love your hair, nail, finger or other body parts.....
People like to comb & style the hair, polish the nail..etc... Once hair or nail fall down from body then nobody cares.

3. If you love your spouse then you can love spouse's family ( in laws....LOL)...

3. If you love your country then you can love your countrymen.....

4. If the leaders of groups ( leaders of societies , state, countries, spiritual groups....etc) like each other & seat together with interpersonal friendly dialogues then their followers will have relationship among each other.

In short love begins or connected with origin. When we love the roots or origin we will love the whole.

Similarly IF YOU LOVE OWNER, FATHER, ROOTS or ORIGIN of THIS UNIVERSE ( ..with many names..) THEN YOU LOVE or LIKE EVERYONE INCLUDING NATURE.

Bg 14.4 — It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kuntī, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father.

FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT.

MIND CONTROL

Our education, professional life, physical fitness, social & family life........ our whole life, society & nation's overall outcome is depend on individual's Mind control.

Mind is like a chattering jukebox full of thoughts and emotions of what we have heard, tasted, smelled , seen and touched. Mind is so restless, very agitated, obstinate and swift rapidly from one thoughts to others faster than light & wind.  Mind in matter of seconds makes haven out of hell and hell out of haven. As a human we are trying to be controller and master of universe, but in reality we are slave of our own mind. In our day to day life controlling  & convincing our mind to do the right thing  is very difficult task.
Bg 6.6 — For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.
Bg 6.34 — The mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong, O Kṛṣṇa, and to subdue it, I think, is more difficult than controlling the wind.
How to control our mind?
We have to treat our mind as outsider, 2nd person not a part of our own body just like we treat & reject salesman's mind who try to sell each & every products to us. We should not buy all ideas that's mind proposing to us. We need to stop indulging ourselves actively or passively into shallow sensually pleasure activities.
Mind can not remain empty, so our negative, worldly & mundane thoughts have to be replaced or crowded out by good spiritual thoughts. We need to change habits of our senses. We should develop higher taste for hearing & reading good thoughts, seeing, smelling & tasting good stuff.
We need to change ABCDE of our mind:
A: Association: Association is the key to be successful in any field we require association with like minded cool, calm & collected soul who is on divine path.
B. Books: Hearing, reading & discussing the good literature with spiritual thoughts and scriptures not mundane literature.
C. Chanting mantra: In age of darkness mantra meditation is easy & more effective.
D. Diet: Watch your diet, our body & minds are made up of what we eat. Consume fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts. Avoid frozen & packages products and intoxicants.
E. Exercise: Physical fitness will help us to keep our mental fitness.

There was never, not now or will ever have medicine or machine to control our mind

LIVING with CHAOS.

Many time we have seen signs at the road work says " Temporary Inconvenience , Permanent Improvement". But in material world it is other way around " Temporary Improvement, Permanent Inconvenience".

Yes so true. Our life is full of challenges & obstacles, many issues to be resolved at home, at work, in society, at county level, in politics, even in religion....etc.

SB: 10.14.58 says padaṁ padaṁ yad vipadāṁ na teṣām:  There is struggle & danger at every steps in our life.

We can not escape from these Chaos. Our surroundings situation will never be perfect, if we get stuck on one particular issue our attention & energy will be diverted from other parts of life. Many things in life can not be fixed - they just need to be managed and tolerated. We must have to tempered our consciousness toward unresolved problems & focus on other part of the life.

WE HAVE to LEARN to LIVE with CHAOS.

Learning to live with chaos is more realistic, progressive and practical or pragmatic. Like running water effortlessly flows around any obstructions to its final destination similarly we should march on through any challenges in our life to achieve our goal. Time to time we need to turn off our mind from external chaos and focus inward for our internal development to strengthen ourselves. That dose not mean to be selfish or irresponsible but it means be Attentive but not Attached to the situation. Our material & spiritual growth can not be hampered from surroundings situation.

Bg 2.14 This world is a place of dualities wherein......Problems-No problems, Illness-Recovery, Obstacles-No obstacles, Birth-Death, Success-Failure, Victory-Defeat, Praise-Criticism, Happiness-Sorrow......etc continue as a cycle like Summer-Winter throughout in our life. They arise from sense perception and one must learn to tolerate unhappy & chaotic moments without being disturbed.

TOP MOST PLEASURE.

Temporary Body vs Eternal Soul Pleasure or Bliss.

Every living entities like to remain happy & joyful dose not wants to be in distress. Ancient Scriptures Bhagavad-Gita highlights on happiness ( they are external & internal ). External happiness is due to senses objects like eating 🍦 , watching 🎥 , playing games... experienced through our senses & mind described as bodily pleasure. Everyone is trying to enjoy bodily pleasure according to their body design and capacity.

In general bodily pleases are short-lived. People dream and work hard for years to get those pleasures, their consciousness completely absorbs into it. The more pleasures we try to pursue through the body the more our consciousness absorbs in it create material bondage and mental distress. People have cravings for more but eventually our body get exhausted and can't keep it up. With ageing body deteriorates and every material pleasure diminish with it and finally finish with death.

Bg 5.22 — An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery, which are due to contact with the material senses. O son of Kuntī, such pleasures have a beginning and an end, and so the wise man does not delight in them. (vedabase.com).

Gita gives less important to bodily pleasure and cautions us that bodily pleasures are the sources of misery. It explains that at core level we are eternal Soul not a physical body and give more stress on our everlasting pleasure or internal happiness experience through our Soul.

Gita wisdom reveals a pathway of everlasting happiness or Bliss is based on connecting our eternal minute soul with the whole the all-attractive Supreme soul. Once we link with Absolute Truth or Supreme through spiritual practices ( Bhakti Yoga) we progress towards the supreme spiritual happiness that last forever beyond our bodily limitation.

We can make this connection with supreme without quitting anything in our life. We can continue our normal day to day life and our occupation.

EVERYONE OF US HAVE THIS HIDDEN TREASURE BOX.

WHO AM I?

What is my identity? Is my identity based on nationality, religion, designation, qualities, physical body structure...etc. What happened to my identity after death? Let's understand this very important topic.

Whenever we talk about our belongings we try to connect everything by keeping ourselves in center. Examples: my house, my car, my wealth, my degree, my family, my body, my finger...etc. We don't say I House, I car, I wealth, I head or I body etc... who is that my or me? Me or my dose not change throughout the life since our birth only thing keep changing is our body and things surrounding us, we all have experience this.

Our body is constantly changing from infancy, childhood, youth, middle age, old age, and finally death, but we always keep our sense of identity described as a Soul in Vedic scriptures. Outerwear on your body moves because your body is moving, similarly your body is moving because your soul is moving. In whole cycle of birth, growth, decay and death Soul is continuously migrating, so even after death Soul has to move and enter into new body described as transmigration that means Soul is eternal. We all have strong urge to live is feeling of eternal Soul. Our body is growing from infancy due to eternal Soul, once Soul live, the body will stop growing and start decaying. Soul remain in body until body is livable.

Primary quality of the Soul is to serve to others. If we look at our life either be as a spouse, parents, children, in our profession throughout the day we are serving to someone including ourselves. We should serve with love & compassion.

Only on the platform of our identity as an eternal Soul we can have equalities, similarities & can connect with each other including other species without any prejudice.
Bg 2.13 — As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.
Bg 2.20 — For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.
Bg 2.22 — As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones (vedabase.com)

Our temporary identity (nationality, religion, status, physical body) will be finished with death. So as an eternal Soul that's our real identity we should not be anxious or fearful of changes within & surrounding us.

I hear and read discourses & articles on Vedic thoughts & other philosophy from Srila Prabhupada, his disciples & grand disciples ( HH Bhakti Rasamitra Swami, HH Chaitanya Charandas Prabhu, Sutapa Das, Amarnath Dasa, HH Bhakticharu Swami, Urmila Devi Dasi, HH Sivarama Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, Lal Govind Prabhu ( Gujarati & Hindi) Prahalad Maharaj in Surat (Gujarati) .......and many more from ISKCON......).

Don’t try to understand God by Depiction ( means image, picture...etc ) but try to understand him by Definition. Some times people ask why God is Supreme? It is just like asking why circle is circular? Just by definition circle is circular similarly by definition God is unborn, complete, unlimited, infinite, eternal, the Absolute Truth the source of everything, cause of all causes. God is personal and also impersonal BG 12.1, has form and also formless whichever way we can understand him , accept him is up to us.

I see the God besides above mention qualities as a eternal living person ( not a abstract or some kind of light ) known by name Krishna means who attracts everyone has also MANY other NAMES, form, abode, many incarnation, activities, qualities, associates, full of wisdom, bliss, cause of all causes.

I am posting articles based on Vedic scriptures and expressing my opinion, thoughts, understanding, emotion & love through articles not enforcing on anyone. Writing or sharing the articles is my Devotion to God/Gita/Guru...it helps me more than anyone else. Of course I use Google search to collect some data. Thanks to Facebook/Social media for providing the platform.

It is always good idea to share our good thoughts & knowledge with others. Besides my parents, wife, teachers, family & friends GREATFUL to EVERYONE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED in MY LIFE.

Hopefully my enthusiasm will continue by grace of Guru & God ( Krishna , Absolute Truth ).

WE ARE our OWN GURU.

Besides our parents our teachers play very important roll in our education & overall progress in our life. Of course we need faith in our Guru to progress further and we should be Greatful to our Teacher. But significant growth occurred in any field of life if we have our own desire or quest to learn more especially in Spirituality.

There is Uddhava Gita section in ancient scriptures SB 11th canto 7th chapter (Vedabase.com) one of the sloka says that WE ARE our OWN GURU.
"SB 11.7.20 — An intelligent person, expert in perceiving the world around him and in applying sound logic, can achieve real benefit through his own intelligence. Thus sometimes one acts as one’s own instructing spiritual master".

We need to introspect ourselves that we have lower & higher nature. Lower nature looks for short term material benefits to improve our living standards called "Preya", while higher nature is inquiring about higher spiritual truths called "Shreya". Human with higher nature will think about sacrificing for others while people with lower nature remain busy in maintaining & entertaining themselves. Darwin philosophy is all about survival of fittest, yes true applicable to all species, but there is much more to offer in human species besides survival of fittest. In human life most appealing or pleasing to our hearts is Sacrificed by Fittest.

WE CAN FIND OURSELVES by THINKING ABOUT OTHERS.
There are many temptation throughout our life can hampered our progress, with lower nature we can succumbed in this world. With our spiritual intelligence & strength we can control our lower nature & temptations. Our soul can be our own Guru and can direct our life.

Bg 3.43 — Thus knowing oneself to be transcendental to the material senses, mind and intelligence, O mighty-armed Arjuna, one should steady the mind by deliberate spiritual intelligence  and thus – by spiritual strength – conquer this insatiable enemy known as lust.
We can educate ourselves through 1. Scriptures & Spiritual master , they are like front head light of car can guide us what is coming in future with our action & behavior. 2. Our own or surroundings past experiences is like a rear back light of car, by looking back our journey we learn from our past experiences and we can plan our future life accordingly.
Some of our lower nature or qualities inherited through our genes described as inheritance characteristics. But we as a human have much more potential to supersede our lower inheritance qualities and acquire higher spiritual truth. Lower species dose not have these capability, they just remain busy only in eating-sleeping-mating and defending. Scriptures are like spike guard or surge protector helps us to develop understanding & tolerance to protect us from temptation. We can fall down from our temptation but we should not fall away, our journey should continue to find out about higher spiritual truths.

SPIRITUALITY: Essential to our Social and Professional life.

Dose advancement in Spirituality will diminish our enthusiasm toward our profession & social responsibilities? No, not at all. In fact Spirituality is advantageous, favorable, valuable & rewarding for our social & professional life.

In our life there will be no action without passion, this world is running more or less in Mode of Passion.  Everyone is working hard to maintain, entertain themselves, create something, do something...etc...In short Mode of Passion keeps everyone busy to find better facilities for Eating-Sleeping-Mating-Defending that's all. Same mode of passion can be utilized for spiritual inquiries and activities like hearing/reading good spiritual thoughts, Yoga, mediation...etc. Spiritual thoughts & practice will build up our character and strengthen our daily life.

Spirituality means learning higher values in life. Spirituality will bring new energy, enthusiasm in our life, it is not about inertia or laziness. It is about bringing joy in our life and people surrounding us. Spirituality is not about changing the world, it is about changing ourselves. Spirituality is not about detachment from action, but it is about detachment from result. Spirituality means voluntary regulated, satisfied & purified life. Advanced spiritualist will be much more honest, noble, affectionate, disciplined, passionate & enthusiastic toward his social duty and profession.

With spiritual development we can bring devotion ( love, enthusiasm and loyalty) in work and in relationships. It is about cooperation at home & work. It is about appreciation and gratefulness. It is about managing worst & stressful situations with smiley face. It is about to keep balance & disciplined in eating, sleeping and other sensually pleasure recreation activities very much necessary to progress in our profession and also helpful in advancement of spiritual life. SPIRITUALITY MEANS CONQUERING OVER MIND essential for everything in our life.

Bg 6.6 — For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.
Bg 6.17 — He who is regulated in his habits of eating, sleeping, recreation and work can mitigate all material pains by practicing the yoga system. (vedabase.com).
In short spiritually advanced person in full state of mind & body controlled who is very much balanced & disciplined will be much more productive to self and society.
